KDL announces plans for new 400-lot community in the Toowoomba growth corridor

05 December 2025

KDL Property Group is set to make its first move into the Toowoomba growth corridor, unveiling plans for a new circa 400-lot residential community in Meringandan, just 15 kilometres north of the Toowoomba CBD.

Positioned in a peaceful rural setting surrounded by open space, the proposed community will offer residents the best of both worlds – a quiet, country-inspired lifestyle with easy access to one of regional Queensland’s strongest and most diverse city centres. The site is also less than two hours from Brisbane, providing broader connectivity for future residents.

KDL Managing Director Kent Leicester said the Toowoomba region had long been of interest to the business, with the Meringandan site representing an opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing and economically resilient part of the state.

“Toowoomba is one of Queensland’s most dynamic regional cities, underpinned by strong infrastructure, excellent education and healthcare, and a highly connected local economy,” he said.

“We see incredible potential in Meringandan. It combines the charm of a rural community with proximity to major services, giving future residents the lifestyle advantages they’re seeking.

“We’re excited to bring KDL’s proven approach to quality, thoughtful masterplanning to this part of the Toowoomba region.”

The new community will feature an average lot size of well over 400 square metres, suitable for a range of single and dual key home designs.

It will draw on KDL’s extensive experience delivering residential neighbourhoods across South East Queensland’s key growth corridors, including Moreton Bay and Logan.

With a portfolio that spans boutique townhouse projects through to large, multi-stage estates, KDL continues to focus on creating places that balance affordability, amenity and long-term value.

Planning for Meringandan is well advanced with more details to be shared as the project progresses.
