KDL Property Group was founded on the simple but compelling idea that property development could be done differently with a strong focus on people, process and partnerships.

A legacy in the making

In 2012, Kent Leicester set out to build a company that would always be looking to the future, identifying key locations and building a development pipeline to meet evolving market needs.

With a background in financial services and development advisory, Kent brought together a small but highly experienced team and began acquiring sites across southeast Queensland. The focus was clear from the start – anticipate growth, plan with purpose and deliver timely solutions.

From early land subdivisions targeting both the investor and owner-occupier markets, KDL has expanded its focus to larger scale projects and amalgamations, including government and institutional housing delivery, with a current pipeline of more than 2,500 lots across multiple growth corridors.

The 2022 launch of Ryse Construction marked a major milestone, enabling the group to manage every stage of delivery, from acquisition to completed homes, with the speed and consistency required by public and private sector partners. It also marked the commencement of commercial projects delivered by Ryse Construction on land developed by KDL.

Today, KDL remains driven by Kent’s original vision to deliver well-planned, sustainable communities that offer long-term liveability and respond to Queensland’s changing housing needs. With a growing team and enduring stakeholder relationships, KDL will continue to play a leading role in shaping the future of residential development.
