KDL is excited to announce that Happy Hearts Childcare and Kindergarten will be the operator of its new childcare centre currently under construction at Avaline in Burpengary East.
Located at the entrance of this new residential community, the 90-place childcare centre will fill a much-needed supply gap in the local area, within easy walking distance of hundreds of homes.
Happy Hearts is a rapidly expanding SEQ operator with several existing centres in the Moreton Bay region. The family owned and operated group embraces holistic learning in a safe, natural and homely environment with play-based learning activities.
Programs often include music and dance, sports and yoga, cooking, nature excursions, and art and science projects, all designed to promote physical health, creativity and cognitive development.
Construction of the childcare centre at 8 Maitland Road, Burpengary East, is now well advanced with an estimated opening date of September 2025.
Plans are also in place to develop a new medical centre on the site to provide a range of health services to the growing Burpengary East community.
KDL’s building division Ryse Construction is building the childcare centre and made Queensland history recently with a record slab pour for the childcare centre using Biax Foundations eco-friendly pods.More than 1,000 Biax recycled plastic pods were used for the slab, which was designed by Group 6 Engineers and prepared by Reliable Foundations Limited.
Biax Pods, developed by Biax Foundations, represent a significant advancement in sustainable and efficient concrete slab construction. These innovative void formers are crafted entirely from recycled polypropylene plastic, offering a durable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional polystyrene waffle pods.
Designed to be fully recyclable, Biax Pods contribute to a circular economy by minimising construction waste and reducing the environmental impact of building foundations.
